Calendar

Calendar

The Calendar gives you a time-based view of your entire project portfolio. Projects are plotted by their start and end dates so you can see what is running when, spot scheduling conflicts, and navigate directly to any project from the timeline. Reach it from the sidebar under Calendar.

Three views

Switch between views using the tabs at the top right of the Calendar header. Your chosen view is remembered across sessions.

Month view

A full calendar grid showing the current month. Projects appear as coloured span ribbons across the days they are active - each ribbon colour reflects the project's health status (Excellent, Good, Fair, At Risk, Critical). Milestones that fall within the month appear as small diamond markers on their due date.

  • Click any project ribbon to open a day detail panel on the right side, showing all projects active on that day.
  • Click any milestone diamond to navigate directly to the project detail page.
  • Navigate between months using the left/right arrows in the header, or click Today to return to the current month.

Week view

A seven-day column grid centred on the current week. Projects appear as coloured blocks within each day column. The week view shows more detail than the month view - project names are visible on each block without hovering. Navigate between weeks using the header arrows.

  • Click any project block to open the day detail panel.
  • The current day column is highlighted with a tinted background.

Timeline (Gantt) view

A horizontal Gantt chart showing all projects as bars spanning their full duration. Projects are sorted by start date. The timeline stretches far enough to show the full date range of all active projects, with today marked by a vertical line.

  • Each bar is coloured by the project's health score - the same colour scale as the rest of Dashly.
  • Hover any bar to see the project name, start date, end date, and health score.
  • Click any bar to navigate to the project detail page.
  • Scroll horizontally to move through time. The project name column stays pinned on the left.

Day detail panel

Clicking any day in the Month or Week view opens a detail panel on the right side of the screen. The panel lists all projects active on that specific day, with:

  • Project name and health score badge
  • Status label
  • Any milestones due on that day, with their completion state
  • A link to open the full project detail page

Close the panel by clicking elsewhere on the calendar or pressing Escape.

Health colour coding

All project entries in the Calendar are coloured by Dashly Sense health score:

Excellent (80+)
Good (65–79)
Fair (45–64)
At Risk (25–44)
Critical (0–24)
No score

What shows on the Calendar

The Calendar shows projects that have both a start date and a duration set. Projects without these fields are excluded from all calendar views - they will not appear even if other fields are complete.

TIP

If a project is not showing up on the Calendar, open the project detail page and check that both Start Date and Duration are filled in. These are the only two fields the Calendar requires.

Milestones on the Calendar

Milestones with a due date appear as diamond markers on the Calendar in Month view. A milestone diamond is:

  • Filled (solid) - the milestone has been marked complete
  • Outlined - the milestone is still pending
  • Outlined, past date - the milestone is overdue

Click a milestone diamond to navigate to the project detail page where you can update its status.

Navigation and filtering

The calendar header provides:

  • Left/right arrows - move backward or forward one period (month or week)
  • Today button - jump back to the current period
  • View switcher - toggle between Month, Week, and Timeline

The Calendar always shows all workspace projects in the visible period. There is no per-project filter - use the Business Portfolio roster or dashboard filter chips if you need to isolate specific projects.
